Human trafficking is a serious issue that affects communities across the country, including here in Southern California. Under federal law, when a minor is involved in a commercial sex act, they are recognized as a victim of human trafficking. Historically, many exploited children were treated as offenders rather than victims, but organizations like Saving Innocence have helped shift awareness, advocacy, and support toward protection, restoration, and long-term care.

About Saving Innocence

Saving Innocence supports and empowers children and adults impacted by human trafficking through crisis response, advocacy, education, case management, and trauma-responsive systems of care. Their team works alongside law enforcement, schools, social service agencies, and community partners to provide immediate support when victims are identified and continued care as they move toward safety and healing.

Their work goes beyond emergency response. Saving Innocence also provides long-term advocacy, prevention education, survivor support, and foster care resources designed to address the deeper gaps that often leave children vulnerable in the first place.
